So my brother got married last week and I couldn’t be happier for him and Gina. PLUS I finally got the sister I’ve been asking for since as long as I can remember. Not that I don’t love my brother, but a girl needs a sister.
The wedding was in the beautiful Hawk’s Cay Resort. It was awesome because it turned into a mini family vacation.
As you might remember from a previous post, I decided to make them a quilt for their wedding present. Here are some pics of the finished quilt.
This quilt was so fun to make because I got to try some new techniques I hadn’t done before. I didn’t use any rulers in cutting the fabric and I used free motion quilting for the first time. Which was soooo fun BTW. Loooved it! I decided to put some sashing between each row since none of the blocks matched up. I didn’t want it to look too crazy.
I was so happy to give it them after the wedding. They seemed to really like it. Now I just need to plan a trip to San Francisco so I can see it in their house in person.
Here’s to always finding the Beauty in the Blocks,
