I decided to join Olive & Ollie’s paint along, so this week I’ve been working on my modern barn quilt. I’ve really enjoyed being able to sit down and paint for awhile. It’s pretty much all I’ve been doing this week since I’m on vacation. I’m so close to being done, but I can’t figure out the last color I want to put on it. I’m almost considering just leaving it white.
To me it looked like a hurricane when I first drew it out. I decided to go from light to dark with the colors as if it’s going from the eye of the storm where it’s so calm to the outside where all the scary rain and stuff is.
I think I’m going to make it into a sign and write “Beauty in the Blocks” on it. That way if I ever go to a craft or quilt fair or farmer’s market I’ll already have a sign for my tent.
I just finished the modern barn quilt. I love how it came out! I decided to mix grey with a blue color I had for the last piece. You can’t really tell in the pic, but it’s different from the green in the middle.
Baxter was really curious about this new thing in the apartment.
All in all this project was so fun! I’ll definitely make more in the future!
Here’s to always finding the Beauty in the Blocks,
